Chenard Walcker - “Mon Chien S’Appelle Stop”
I had come across some tunes from sampling artist and netlabel activist Chenard Walcker, but unfortunately never had had the time to really get into his huge output (now quite reduced after he was struck by diabetic coma a few years back).
Chenard displays a refreshing lack of musical blinkers, bringing loads of obscure sound sources into his beatmaking. At the same time he nicely avoids the “world music” or “cinematic music” traps thanks to some healthy dose of irony or nonsense.
